Paraquat Dichloride 24% SL
Paraquat Dichloride 24% SL is a non-selective contact herbicide used to control weeds. Here’s what it is typically used for:
Main Uses
Weed control in crops: It kills a wide range of grasses and broadleaf weeds in crops like cotton, sugarcane, tea, coffee, rubber plantations, and orchards.
Pre-planting / Pre-emergence: Applied before sowing or before crop emergence to clear fields of existing weeds.
Inter-row weed control: Used between crop rows (directed spray) so it doesn’t touch the crop plants.
Non-crop areas: Roadsides, industrial areas, bunds, and wastelands.
How It Works
Paraquat acts quickly by damaging plant cells on contact, causing weeds to dry out and die within hours to days. It does not move inside the plant, so only the sprayed parts are affected.
Important Safety Note
Paraquat is highly toxic to humans and animals if ingested or improperly handled. Many countries have restricted or banned it. Always:
Use protective gear (gloves, mask, goggles)
Avoid spray drift onto crops or skin
Follow label instructions strictly
If you tell me your crop and weed problem, I can suggest whether this is appropriate or safer alternatives.
