Technical Name: Emamectin Benzoate 5% SG
Description:
Emamectin Benzoate 5% SG is a soluble granular (SG) water-dispersible insecticide product containing 5% active Emamectin Benzoate ingredient. It is widely used in agriculture for the control of a wide range of lepidopteran pests (caterpillars) of vegetable, fruit, and cotton crops. It works by activating chloride channels in the insect nervous system, causing paralysis and death of the larvae.
Mode of Action:
Emamectin Benzoate works by activating glutamate-gated chloride channels, paralyzing the target insect. It is translaminar and ingested, i.e., it penetrates the leaf surface and controls insects that feed on both surfaces of the leaf.
