Sumitomo ORMIE is an advanced dual-action systemic fungicide developed specifically for the effective management of sheath blight in paddy (rice). It combines the proven antibiotic fungicide Validamycin with the triazole fungicide Tebuconazole, providing two complementary modes of action for superior disease control and improved crop health.
ORMIE works through both contact and systemic action. After application, it is rapidly absorbed by the plant and moves within the tissues to protect both treated and newly developing plant parts. Validamycin inhibits fungal penetration and suppresses the growth of fungal hyphae, while Tebuconazole blocks ergosterol biosynthesis, disrupting fungal cell membrane formation and preventing further disease development. This dual mechanism provides preventive, curative, and long-lasting protection against fungal infection.
